Phoenix Sound has been operating since 2001 and was originally based at the Music Centre in Wembley. For more than 30 years the purpose built orchestral recording studio made outstanding contributions to the recording of countless film scores, television programs and records. World famous composers including Quincy Jones, Henry Mancini, John Williams and John Barry all used the studios during its distinctive history, scoring films such as Superman, Batman and many of the James Bond movies.
More recently Hollywood film producers like Warner Brothers, New Line Cinema and Miramax booked into Phoenix Sound to record film scores including, amongst others, Lord of the Rings and Troy, utilizing the talents of contemporary composers Anne Dudley, Gabriel Yared, John Frizzell and Howard Shore. Phoenix Sound has been responsible for the music recording for an assortment of drama, documentary and light entertainment television shows such as Life of Mammals, The Genius of Mozart and Stars in their Eyes, and has worked for clients including the BBC, Granada, LWT and many others. Phoenix Sound’s new location at Pinewood Studios has been operating since October 2005.
